 If you didn't get your fill of Taste of Vail in April, you're in luck. An autumn encore, the inaugural Fall Food & Wine Classic, returns to Vail Village Sept. 22-23 with 20 restaurants from around the area, 30 guest chefs, and winemakers gathering at the Gerald Ford Amphitheater for the festival's Grand Tasting (Saturday, Sept. 23, 4 to 7 p.m.), which concludes the 2-day celebration of all things food and wine. And while your palate will get a caloric workout throughout the weekend, the Fall Food & Wine Classic introduces some classically Vail ways to burn calories before your feast, too. Saturday morning kicks off with four ticketed brunch events—all paired with southern hemisphere wine and an outdoor adventure of your choosing, including a Berry Picker hike (9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., $55), a Vail Pass bike ride (10 a.m. to 1 p.m., $80), a fly fishing outing (10 a.m. to 12 p.m, $180), or an aerial yoga class (10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., $50) on the menu. If you'd rather leave the work to your taste buds, try Friday's pop-up wine dinners at featured restaurants throughout the valley. Summer might be a memory (Sept. 22 marks the Autumnal Equinox!), but we'll give one last hurrah for the valley's festival season before the aspens shed their leaves and the snowmaking machines bring winter to Golden Peak.
