Celebration of Life for Pepi Gramshammer

There are a handful of people who truly epitomize the spirit of Vail; Pepi Gramshammer was one of the most iconic. The Austrian ski racer was the heartbeat of Vail for nearly 50 years and helped pioneer Vail’s success as an international ski resort. Join the Gramshammer family, the Vail Valley Foundation, Vail Resorts, the Town of Vail, and the Vail community and celebrate the life of Pepi Gramshammer and his love for Vail. 34th Annual Casual Classic Bike Ride

Sept 21, 7 a.m., check-in at Sonnenalp Hotel, Vail

This is not a race! Enjoy the crisp fall air on a casual 38-mile bike ride beginning in Breckenridge and ending at Bully Ranch at the Sonnenalp Hotel with barbecue, live music, and a silent auction. Participants can catch the shuttle at the Sonnenalp to start the journey in Breckenridge: Ride the rec path to Frisco, climb Vail Pass, and then cruise to the Bully Ranch at the Sonnenalp Hotel Vail. Proceeds of the ride are distributed between the Sonnenalp of Vail Foundation and ECOTrails. Taste of Vail Fall Wine & Food Classic

Sept 21, 8 a.m.–7:30 p.m., various Vail locations

Back for its third year, this celebration of all things culinary will feature wines from the southern hemisphere (winemakers from Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and Argentina will be attendance) and include more than 50 wineries and 30 guest chefs, restaurateurs, and sommeliers from the Vail Valley. Daytime activities like hiking, biking, salsa dancing, fly fishing, and yoga are paired with intimate wine and dining experiences; brunch, lunch, and culinary classes are also on offer. Community Market Launch Party

According to Feeding America, 8,700 residents struggle to put food on the table in Eagle County. To help address food insecurity in the valley, the Eagle Valley Community Foundation launched the Community Market (formerly the Eagle River Valley Food Bank) in May 2018. This weekend, join Eagle Valley Food Systems Director Kelly Liken at the Community Market warehouse for live music, food, and fun to raise funds and, more importantly, awareness of food solutions for Eagle River Valley residents.
