Sara Watkins

The multi-talented Sara Watkins highlights a July 13^th evening in Vail as part of the town’s Vail Summer Bluegrass series. Watkins debuted in 1989 as fiddler and founding member of the progressive bluegrass group Nickel Creek along with her brother Sean and mandolinist Chris Thile. In addition to singing and playing fiddle, she also plays ukulele and guitar, and played percussion while touring with The Decemberists. Pop Up Strings

Kick off your Friday night with a dose of classical music at Avon's Pop Up Strings. Concerts start at  6pm and feature a string quartets evening performing Beethoven, Bach, Brahms and Mozart on the Mail Street Mall. And while you'll want to leave your pets at home, the fact that all drink sales during the event benefit the Eagle County Humane Society will be music to your ears.
