Sara Watkins
The multi-talented Sara Watkins highlights a July 13th evening in Vail as part of the town’s Vail Summer Bluegrass series. Watkins debuted in 1989 as fiddler and founding member of the progressive bluegrass group Nickel Creek along with her brother Sean and mandolinist Chris Thile. In addition to singing and playing fiddle, she also plays ukulele and guitar, and played percussion while touring with The Decemberists. Expect to hear material from her two solo albums at this show, which is schedule for 6pm at the Arrabelle at Vail Square. Info

Avoid the crowds and the hype with this hometown market schedule for Saturday, July 16. Set in the old western charm of charming Downtown Minturn, the Market features an assortment of items from farm-fresh and organic produce to great breakfast and lunch items to gourmet foods, gifts, clothing, jewelry, handmade crafts, items for the home, fine art and more. Pop Up Strings
Kick off your Friday night with a dose of classical music at Avon's Pop Up Strings. Concerts start at 6pm and feature a string quartets evening performing Beethoven, Bach, Brahms and Mozart on the Mail Street Mall. And while you'll want to leave your pets at home, the fact that all drink sales during the event benefit the Eagle County Humane Society will be music to your ears.
