There’s a new silhouette on the Lionshead skyline, and no, it’s not another construction crane. The Lion, Lionshead’s latest luxury address is open for business, with builder PCL Construction aiming to put the finishing touches on the project by June, weather permitting; a new fine-dining restaurant on the ground floor (with underground parking, score!) is set to open (hopefully) by next season. The Lion boasts 65 private residences with unique floor plans (including several penthouses with panoramic views of both Vail Mountain and the Beav), and amenities like indoor and outdoor pools, and ski lockers, for prospective buyers. And while the multi-million dollar price tag attached to any one of the units might be beyond the reach of most locals, the latest addition to Lionshead is worth a peruse as it’s a bellwether for even more luxurious building projects to come. The Lion, 970-476-2050
