The Italian film classic The Bicycle Thieves is showing for free this week in Basalt.

Vail Art Walk

Join the Vail Valley Art Guild for an Art Walk through Vail Village on June 29 at 11 am. This hour long free stroll starts off at the Colorado Ski and Snowboard Museum before working its way through the Village with conversations on the history of the Vail Valley, the founding of Vail Mountain, the master planning of the Village, and the importance of site-specific art, including getting close and personal with some of The Town’s public art collection with works ranging from paintings, sculptures, murals, playground components, to site-integrated art. Foreign Film Night

The Basalt Library’s free foreign film night returns this Wednesday with a 5:15 pm showing of The Bicycle Thieves, a 1948 production directed by Vittorio De Sica. Widely regarded as a masterpiece of Italian neorealism, the film was recognized in 1950 with an Academy Honorary Award and was named the best film of all time in 1954 by a poll of filmmakers and critics by the magazine Sight and Sound. Minturn Market

July 2nd sees the Minturn Market take over the downtown area of this venerable mountain town. With an assortment of items from farm-fresh and organic produce to great breakfast and lunch items to gourmet foods, gifts, clothing, jewelry, handmade crafts, items for the home, fine art and more, it runs from 9am to 2 pm.
