Fresh produce will be one of the constants at Edwards' new Hovey and Harrison.

If you've seen the storefront advising passersby to "Eat Real Food!" in The Corner at Edwards, you're in luck; the space behind the papered glass will soon be offering real food aplenty in the form of freshly baked goods, coffee, local produce, a cafe menu, and a full-service bar. The name of this real food mecca? Hovey & Harrison, a partnership between Gretchen Hovey, owner of Edwards-based produce purveyor Ripe, and Molly Harrison, a baker for the likes of Sweet Basil and Zino's. As such, the space will evolve from a coffee shop selling Harrison's signature baked goodies (including take-home loaves of her signature sourdough and multi-grain breads) in the morning to a lunchtime hangout where locals can linger on the patio – with cocktails, courtesy of the cafe's full bar. In addition, Ripe's signature produce – sourced from farms in Palisade and around the valley – will be sold in Hovey & Harrison's on-site market year-round. And as for that papered window? "It opens up for a nice indoor/outdoor space in the summer," says Hovey. "We just want a great community space where people can come and hang out."
