Aug 16–18, 4 and 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, 1 and 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nottingham Park, Avon

Perfect for the kids (and kids at heart), San Francisco-based Circus Bella brings the excitement of the Big Top to Nottingham Park. Featuring aerialists, acrobats, family foot jugglers, clowns, wire walkers, and more, these performances of “Kaleidoscope” include live music and showcase all that a modern circus can be. Vail Film Festival

Aug 15–18, various locations in Vail

Now in its 16th year, the Vail Film Festival has been voted one of the top 10 destination film festivals in the world. Moving from spring to fall, this weekend will focus on films from women filmmakers with a schedule including features, documentaries, and short films (most of which include a Q&A with filmmakers after the viewing), a panel discussion and workshop in addition to an opening and closing night event. (Passes start at $50, entry for individual events is $10 and available at the door.)

Vail Farmers Market Farm-to-Table Dinner Series

Aug 16, 6–8 p.m., East Meadow Drive, Vail

Imagine dining al fresco on the streets of Vail, enjoying a meal crafted from fresh, seasonal ingredients grown by Colorado farmers—it’s a tempting offer. The third in the Vail Farmers Market series, this dinner includes delectable dishes from Chef Pamela Davis (The Grazing Fox), Chef Chris Benson, Executive Chef/Owner Riley Romanin (Hooked), and Executive Sous Chef Julian Becker, paired with wine and beer. Event is rain or shine, so come prepared! (Tickets are $115 for adults and $40 for children under 14.)



Eagle Volunteer Restoration Project

Aug 17, 9 a.m.–noon, Eagle (Meet at the Eagle Pool and Ice Rink parking lot)

Looking to get dirty and give back to the community? Join the Eagle Valley Land Trust, Town of Eagle Open Space, Eagle Outside, and Alpine Bank in restoring critical wildlife habitat and scenic viewsheds in the heart of Eagle. This restoration project for a well-loved open space will help improve critical wildlife habitat and scenic viewsheds and give you a morning outdoors with family, friends, and the community.


Aug 17, 4–8 p.m., Beaver Creek Village

One of Beaver Creek’s newest events, Zusammen (German for “together”) transforms Beaver Creek Village into a destination in which one can indulge the senses with live music and cuisine from local chefs and restaurants. Cloud 9 Strings will provide the soundtrack as guests enjoy small plates at communal tables in the crisp fall air during this festive feast. Food and beverages available for purchase.



Pool Party at Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa

Aug 18, 3–5 p.m., Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa, Avon

Summer is winding down but there are still plenty of lazy afternoons to be had. Head to the Westin Riverfront (home to one of the best pool views in town) for the official launch of The Westin Riverfront’s new limited-edition “Adult Swim,” a Hazy Grapefruit Session IPA created by Vail Brewing Company.
