Bring your little ghosts and ghouls to the Vail Public Library for a free, Halloween-themed story time for kids 10 and under. vaillibrary.com

 

Trick-or-Treat Trot

Oct. 31, 2-5 p.m., Vail Village & Lionshead

Don’t miss this 26-years-strong Vail tradition where kids of all ages can run fully costumed through Vail and Lionshead Villages and collect candy from participating merchants. A limited number of Trick or Treat Trot bags will be available at the Covered Bridge in Vail Village and by the archway in Lionshead on a first-come, first-served basis. Edwards Fall Fun Night

STARS: David Gonzalez: The Boy Who Could Sing Pictures

Featuring two stories that touch on important topics like compassion, generosity and tolerance, this production is geared towards the first through third grade crowd. Including “The Boy Who Could Sing Pictures,” adapted from Seymour Leichman’s book, and “Nina Nails It,” based on a Persian tale, these two stories feature storytelling by David Gonzalez and music from pianist David Kelly. $15 adults, $12 children. vilarpac.org

Celebrate Dia de los Muertos with Las Cafeteras, called the “Best Latin Alternative Band” by LA Weekly. Combining punk, hip-hop, cumbia, rock and more, Las Cafeteras performs a style of music that’s hard to pin down but impossible to resist. Using traditional Son Jarocho instruments like the jarana, requinto, quijada (donkey jawbone) and tarima (a wooden platform), Las Cafeteras sing in English, Spanish and Spanglish and add a remix of sounds from hip-hop to rancheras to create music that builds bridges.
