It’s time! Celebrate the start of Eagle County’s ski season at opening day on Vail Mountain. Grab your friends and hit the mountain for the first turns of the 2019-20 season—a new state-of-the-art snowmaking system will sweeten up the slopes on top of the already delivered gifts from Ullr. Music and giveaways add to the festive atmosphere.

Two Arrows Coffee Re-Opening Party

Nov 15, 2-6 p.m., 225 Wall Street, Vail Village

Head to Two Arrows on Opening Day for an après party celebrating the coffee shop’s re-opening (as a full-time tenant of the Wall Street storefront vacated by Root + Flower wine bar) with drink specials, giveaways from Ski Town All-Stars, fun music and good vibes all around.

Tales of the 10th: Author of “The Winter Army” and Historian Maurice Isserman

Nov 15, 4-5:30 p.m., Colorado Snowsports Museum and Hall of Fame, Vail Village

Author Maurice Isserman travels to the Colorado Snowsports Museum to provide a fascinating look at the acclaimed 10th Mountain Division troops that trained at Camp Hale and Ski Cooper before helping to end World War II in Europe. Hear the legends and immerse yourself in the stories of this fascinating point in history. Seating limited to the first 30 guests. $5-$10 (suggested donation).

Wine Tasting For A Cause

Nov 15, 5:30 – 8:30 p.m., Eagle-Vail Pavilion, Eagle-Vail

Edwards’ St. Clare of Assisi Catholic School hosts a grand wine tasting complete with hors d’oeuvres and other refreshments; proceeds from the event will help support purchasing new student computers. $40.

Cocktails and Canvas: Glass Ornaments

Nov. 15, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., The Grand View Room, Lionshead parking structure, Vail

Spruce up your tree this year with a festive, hand-painted ornament. Lauren from the Alpine Arts Center will guide participants in painting a holiday design on a provided glass ornament. Give as a gift or keep it for yourself! Step-by-step instruction, materials and snacks provided. All ages welcome. Cash bar for ages 21+. $20.




Vail Performing Arts Academy's Broadway Stars

Nov 16, 6:30 p.m., Vilar Performing Arts Center, Beaver Creek

Founded in 1995, Vail Performing Arts Academy (VPAA) is dedicated to providing theatrical, educational and cultural experiences for the Vail Valley’s kids. This show features a musical revue of Broadway hits featuring the community’s young performers. $20.


Jen Mack at Ein Prosit

Nov 16, 7 p.m., Ein Prosit, 82 E Beaver Creek Blvd, Avon

Detroit-born and Colorado-raised, singer-songwriter Jen Mack performs soulful acoustic music inspired by Motown, folk and rock at the Germany-inspired beer hall.




Restorative Yoga with Tara Goike

Nov 17, 5:30-7 p.m., Athletic Club at The Westin, Avon

Recover from opening weekend festivities (and skiing) with this 90-minute relaxing, restorative practice. Unwind your body and mind with comfortable yoga poses to achieve a feeling of rejuvenation and clarity before the stresses of the upcoming week. $20 (non-members); free for club members.
