Beaver Creek Opening Day

For the second year in a row, Beaver Creek will open ahead of schedule for the 2019-20 ski season. The resort is offering 70 acres of beginner and intermediate terrain via the Centennial Express Lift and the Haymeadow Express Gondola; uphill access is currently closed. Though the official Beaver Creek’s World’s Best Chocolate Chip Cookie Competition remains scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 27, cookie monsters can look forward to a special Cookie Time in the morning as part of Opening Day festivities. beavercreek.com

Vail mountain opened to skiers and riders last weekend but the official kick-off to the 2019-20 season starts this weekend with a new event: Revely Vail. Celebrating the “Brilliance of Winter,” this week-long celebration includes the Thanksgiving holiday and offers family-oriented activities throughout Vail Village including cooking classes, ice skating celebrations, Explosion of Lights walk (which includes Glühwein and beer), a gingerbread contest, the tree lighting, music and the Kris Kringle Market. Frozen 2 Celebration
