“For the Love of Craft” Film Screening

Nov. 21, 7 p.m., Bonfire Brewing, Eagle

Combining two great loves (movies and beer), Bonfire Brewing presents a free screening of “For the Love of Craft,” a documentary featuring interviews with more than 100 folks who created the craft beer scene that we enjoy today.




Beaver Creek Opening Day

Nov. 23, 9 a.m., Beaver Creek Resort

For the second year in a row, Beaver Creek will open ahead of schedule for the 2019-20 ski season. The resort is offering 70 acres of beginner and intermediate terrain via the Centennial Express Lift and the Haymeadow Express Gondola; uphill access is currently closed. Though the official Beaver Creek’s World’s Best Chocolate Chip Cookie Competition remains scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 27, cookie monsters can look forward to a special Cookie Time in the morning as part of Opening Day festivities.


Revely Vail

Nov. 23-30, Vail Village

Vail mountain opened to skiers and riders last weekend but the official kick-off to the 2019-20 season starts this weekend with a new event: Revely Vail. Celebrating the “Brilliance of Winter,” this week-long celebration includes the Thanksgiving holiday and offers family-oriented activities throughout Vail Village including cooking classes, ice skating celebrations, Explosion of Lights walk (which includes Glühwein and beer), a gingerbread contest, the tree lighting, music and the Kris Kringle Market. A signature 10th Mountain Legacy Parade will also take place along the streets of Vail.


Frozen 2 Celebration

Nov. 23, 10:30 a.m., The Bookworm in Edwards

Bundle up in your furs and grab your favorite snowman: The Bookworm in Edwards is celebrating the film release of “Frozen 2” with story time and a costume contest. All attendees get a free popcorn coupon from the Riverwalk Theater to enjoy at the matinee showing; the winner of the costume contest will receive a free ticket to the showing following story time. Kids and young-at-heart adults are welcome.


Revely Vail Cooking Class Series: Ceviche with Chef Rosa Provoste

Nov. 23, noon -2 p.m. Grand View Community Room, Lionshead Welcome Center

Learn how to make ceviche, a popular Latin American seafood dish consisting of raw fish “cooked” in citrus juice. Harvest Executive Chef Rosa Provoste shares her version with participants. From $45.


Ice Skating Celebration

Nov. 23, 3:30 – 4 p.m., Solaris and Arrabelle skating rinks

The Vail Ice Skating Club will whirl and twirl, lighting up the ice and showcasing their talent at the Solaris and Arrabelle outdoor skating rinks. Free.


Explosion of Lights Walk

Nov. 23, 5:30 – 6 p.m., Lionshead and Vail Villages

Enjoy an illuminated stroll through Vail. Beginning in Lionshead, participants can “ooh” and “ahh” at the lights in Lionshead before snagging a hot chocolate and heading to Vail to admire more lights, ending at Slifer Square.


Mihali Savoulidis

Nov. 23, 10 p.m. Shakedown Bar, Vail Village

Barely 30 years old, the lead singer and guitarist from Vermont rock quartet Twiddle has drawn crowds at iconic locales like Red Rocks and Bonnaroo. Don’t miss Mihali’s signature vocals and guitar work—you’ll see what fans of Twiddle are raving about.




Revely Vail Cooking Class Series: Gnocchi & Pumpkin Soup with Chef Rosa Provoste 

Nov. 24, noon – 2 p.m., Grand View Community Room, Lionshead Welcome Center

Harvest Executive Chef Rosa Provoste will teach participants how to make hand-made gnocchi and pumpkin soup. From $77.


Meet, Greet and Run with World-Class Runner Andrew Wheating

Nov. 24, 3 p.m., Colorado Mountain College, Leadville

Andrew Wheating, who won three NCAA titles and made two Olympic teams and a World Championship team, retired from competitive running in 2018 at age 30. Wheating will visit Colorado Mountain College Leadville and lead a 30-minute group run on CMC Leadville trails. Light refreshments will follow the run and attendees will have an opportunity to listen to stories about his running life. [email protected]

Grill on the Gore Executive Chef David Sanchez is famous for his mouth-watering Gore Range Buffalo Chili. In this class, you’ll learn how to make this warm and comforting dish, packed with flavor and texture. From $55.


Explosion of Lights Walk

Nov. 23, 5:30  – 6 p.m., Lionshead and Vail Villages

If you missed the walk on Saturday or just can’t get enough of the holiday illumination, head to Lionshead on Sunday for another opportunity to enjoy the explosion of lights.


Vail Astronomy Nights

Nov. 24, 6-8 p.m., Betty Ford Alpine Garden

Join a professional astronomer on an exploration of the night sky using museum-grade, state-of-the-art telescopes. With the potential to view the moon, Jupiter, the Ring Nebula, constellations and more, it promises to be a magical night for both experienced stargazers and first-time viewers. Free.
