Snowshoe for Peru 5K

What’s better than a brisk snowshoe excursion in the morning? Enjoying a snowshoe that helps provide safety, education and hope to the youth of Peru. The 7th Annual Snowshoe for Peru 5k sends participants on a fun, family-friendly 5K snowshoe course for a cause. LED Bulb Swap

Let a little light into your life. The Town of Vail and the Climate Action Collaborative are hosting an LED bulb swap for the entire month of February. Participants are encouraged to bring in two incandescent or compact-florescent bulbs and exchange them for two free LED at the Vail Public Library during regular hours of operation. Talk about a bright idea: Replacing two LED bulbs saves $16 per year on electric bills and cuts 230 pounds of air pollution. vailgov.com

 

Project Funway

Fashion made from newspapers, magazines, pop tops and more graces the runway during one of the most year’s unique fundraisers. Project Funway raises awareness and funding for education in Eagle County as creators compete for the title of top designer with creations made from anything but fabric. Beaver Creek Snowshoe Race Series

Feb. 2, 10 a.m., Beaver Creek

Strap on those snowshoes for a scenic stomp in the snow. The Beaver Creek Running Series: Snowshoe Edition draws first-time snowshoers, world-class snowshoe athletes and everyone in between. The second race of the series takes place on the Beaver Creek Golf Course and includes a free post-race meal. Prizes are awarded for the top three male and female finishers.
