 2020 Dion Snowshoes U.S. National Snowshoe Championships

Feb. 28 – March 1, Colorado Mountain College, Leadville

 Now in its 20th year, the U.S. National Snowshoe Championships takes racers through lush lodgepole pine forests with unparalleled views. In addition to competitors, this weekend is also open to snowshoers of all level with demos and “open” events like a kids’ fun run and Citizen’s 5K. Entry fees from $35.


Slopestyle Finals                             

Feb. 28, Women 11 a.m., Men 2 p.m., Golden Peak, Vail

Don’t miss the culmination of one of the Burton U.S. Open’s premier events: slopestyle. The world’s most progressive riders are competing on an updated slopestyle course design with creativity, style and skill at the forefront. Cheer on your favorites or find your new favorite rider.


Big Freedia & Arrested Development

Feb. 28, 6 p.m., Solaris Concert Stage, Vail Village

Part of the Burton U.S. Open, this evening of free live music features performances by Big Freedia, the New Orleans-based rapper known as the Queen of Bounce, and the iconic hip-hop group that’s been inspiring the world for two decades, Arrested Development.


Winter FAC

Feb. 28, 6-9 p.m., Maya at Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa, Avon

Maya’s popular Friday Afternoon Club (FAC) returns on the last Friday of the month through March. Enjoy Live music from Robby and the Peoples and specials on tacos, beer and margaritas.


O.A.R – Spring Fling Tour

Feb. 28, 7 p.m., Vilar Performing Arts Center, Beaver Creek

Since 1996, this Maryland quintet has delivered a signature brand of rock steeped in alternative scope, roots tradition and pop ambition. With nine full-length releases and multiple char-busting songs, O.A.R. has played sold-out shows everywhere from Red Rocks to Madison Square Gardens. Their latest release, “The Mighty O.A.R” takes the band into uncharted territory with songs written only when inspiration struck and a fresh sound with electronic sensibility and expanded soundscape. $75.




Halfpipe Finals                 

Feb. 29, Women 11 a.m., Men 2 p.m., Golden Peak, Vail Mountain 

The competition closes with the halfpipe finals for the Burton U.S. Open at Golden Peak. This year’s pipe features a new design to challenge riders: The completely reimagined Burton U.S. Open halfpipe combines a 13-foot enhanced minipipe creatively transitioning into a standard 22-foot Superpipe.


EVAN GIIA & Big Wild

Feb. 29, 6 p.m., Solaris Concert Stage, Vail Village

Rock out to the alt-pop sounds of Brooklyn-based artist EVAN GIIA followed by the lush soundscapes and sweeping melodies from producer Big Wild during these free, outdoor concerts as part of the Burton U.S. Open.


Burton U.S. Open Closing Party: DJ Cre8, 99 Neighbors & J Espinosa              

Feb. 28, 10 p.m. – 1 p.m., Dobson Ice Arena, Vail

Close out the night and the week-long Burton U.S. Open as Dobson transforms to a late-night club with DJs and more live music setting the mood. 



Awesome Agave: Tequila vs Mezcal

March 1, 2-3:30 p.m., Root & Flower, Bridge Street in Vail Village

Beautiful: The Carole King Musical

March 1, 7 p.m., Vilar Performing Arts Center, Beaver Creek

Telling the story of Carole King, her life and music, is a momentous task – especially presented as a Broadway musical. However, “Beautiful” has thrilled audiences with the inspiring true story of one woman’s remarkable journey from teenage songwriter to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
