The Runaway Grooms at Alpine Arts Center 10th Anniversary Party

Chunky Blanket Making

Join Camille of Broadwick Fibers to create a handmade, chunky knit blanket make from beautiful, high quality wool yarn. Each class is 2.5 hours and is limited to five people per session—you’ll leave with new, hand-made throw. 5th Annual Barstool Races

March 7, noon-3 p.m., Minturn

A favorite in the pantheon of ridiculous races, Minturn’s Barstool Races showcase the thrills and spills that come from someone strapping a barstool to a pair of skis. The competition is fierce, the "sleds" are quirky and "Apres Stool Celebration" afterward is a party not-to-be-missed. Hardscrabble

Beaver Creek Snowshoe Race Series

March 8, Registration at 8:30 a.m., race at 10 a.m., McCoy Park, Beaver Creek

Enjoy a scenic stomp in the snow during the final installment of the Beaver Creek Running Series: Snowshoe Edition. This race (with both a 5K and 10K option) draws first-time snowshoers, world-class snowshoe athletes and everyone in between. The race takes place at McCoy Park Nordic Center at the top of the Strawberry Park Chair Lift in Beaver Creek and includes a free post-race meal. Prizes are awarded for the top three male and female finishers. $30 ages 5-17, $40 adults. beavercreek.com
