Lindsey Vonn
Although she never realized her dream to race against the men at the World Cup downhill in Lake Louise a dozen years ago, at press time Vonn, who was inducted into the Colorado Snowsports Hall of Fame in September, was rumored to be mulling a mid-December comeback as forerunner at Beaver Creek’s Birds of Prey World Cup.

Mikaela Shiffrin
With 97 World Cup globes weighing down the trophy shelves at her Edwards home, Mikaela long ago eclipsed Lindsey Vonn (who has won 82). Even if she doesn’t race any downhill events this winter as vowed, the two-time Olympic gold medalist is expected to reach a 100th victory milestone sometime this season.

Kent Erickson and Barbara Krichbaum
This Vail power couple (who met and then married after moving to Vail soon after the resort’s opening; Erickson found work as Vail Associates CFO and Krichbaum as a Vail Mountain ski instructor) was honored with a Colorado Snowsports Hall of Fame Lifetime Achievement Award in September.
