Vail Village Luxury Spa Gets a Facelift

Surrounded by quiet luxury, you won't want to leave the Four Seasons Resort Vail Spa.

When the Four Seasons Resort and Residences Vail flung open its doors in 2010, it did so with a lavish and polished spa. But 14 years later, what was high-gloss then (ahem, warm, woodsy browns) had begun to feel dated. It was time for a refresh, and, boy, did the design team deliver.

Miami-based interior designer Liubasha Rose of Rose Ink Workshop replaced the earthy autumnal color scheme with wispy grays and watery blues, creating a space that, despite no change to the physical footprint, no longer feels hemmed in.

From a lounge anchored by cushy chairs and a glowing fireplace, guests proceed to low-lit treatment rooms that smell faintly of fresh pine and sage (the lull-you-to-sleep Soothe Room’s soft blankets further encourage a dreamlike state). Enmeshed in the quiet luxury, you likely won’t want to leave.

The spa’s exclusive, specialty products have been selected for impeccable quality—from Comfort Zone (produced by a sustainability-oriented, family-owned business in Parma, Italy) to the 100-percent-vegan Ground Wellbeing (a women’s-health-centric family business based in Cork, Ireland) and Evidens de Beauté (a luxury cosmetics brand founded by a French fashion entrepreneur who was inspired by the skincare routine of his wife, a famous Japanese voice actress).

“We went through all the spas in Colorado to make sure we are the only ones with these products,” says hotel General Manager Jerome Arribas. And it’s not just Colorado, explains Director of Leisure and Wellness Lana Labrecque, “We are the first Four Seasons in the country to carry Evidens de Beauté. This was all very intentional,” she says.

As was the makeover of the spa itself.

If you can’t check in (and check out) for a full-day wellness treatment, steal away for a quick splurge at one of these local oases.
