Vail Beaver Creek Weekend Agenda: February 3-5, 2017
It's hard to believe that it's February in our little snow globe, but here we are, already looking ahead to the first weekend in the second month of 2017. If made-in-the-valley beers are your thing, then Vail Brewing Company is the place to be, as the local brewery's flagship location and Vail Village tasting room play host to live music both nights this weekend. And while live music takes center stage on this weekend's agenda, there are plenty of options for the whole family, too. As always, the Betty Ford Gardens self-guided snow-shoe tours are a family fave, with complimentary tea and hot cocoa all part of the fun. The Colorado Ski & Snowboard History Museum's weekly history walk through Vail Village is another staple itinerary for locals and tourists alike.
Friday, February 3
Burnsville at Vail Brewing Company
6-9 p.m., Vail Brewing Company, Eagle Vail
Vail Brewing Company's flagship location in Eagle Vail plays host to San Diego-based Burnsville, a power trio that offer a bluesy type of rock that goes best with local beer. The group often has a guest performer accompany them, so don't be surprised if the venue sees more than three musicians take the stage for an impromptu jam session.
9:30 p.m., Agave, Avon
Head down valley to the area's signature nightclub experience, as DJ-duo Pork Chop and Deep Jesus take the stage for a night of underground house music. These two are no strangers to the festival scene, so don't be surprised if memories of Burning Man - without the dust - come seeping back into your brain.
Saturday, February 4
Kid's Craft Day: Valentine Edition
10 a.m., Bookworm of Edwards, Riverwalk, Edwards
Kids story time is the main part of the Bookworm of Edwards' Saturday event, with games and arts and crafts - Valentine's Day cards are on this weekend's agenda - all on the schedule. Mom and Dad will be happy to know that cafe drinks will be available for purchase in the bookstore's adjoining coffee shop.
Sweetwater String Band at Vail Brewing Company
4-7 p.m., Vail Brewing Company Tasting Room, Solaris, Vail Village
Apres gets a "soulgrass" twist, with California-based Sweetwater String Band bringing their version of bluesy-folksy-rock with a cello-driven sound to VBC's tasting room in the Solaris complex.
Sunday, February 5
10-11:30 a.m., Vail Vitality Center, Vail Village
If a weekend full of local beer and late night music has you in need of some soul-searching, check out the Vail Vitality Center's special session with local yogi Nicola Farrer. The class features an Asana flow, with therapeutic essential oils playing a part in deepening relaxation and inner reflection.
