Saturday, August 26

Major League Triathlon

12 to 8 p.m., Nottingham Park, Avon

Professional triathletes descend on Avon's Nottingham Park for a chance to claim the title as King (or Queen) of the Mountain, with kids' activities, food vendors, a beer garden, and live music all on hand for non-participating attendees.

The Eagle Music Festival

2 to 10 p.m., The Dusty Boot, Eagle

Local nonprofit the Red Ribbon Project hosts a family-friendly fundraiser with free live music, a silent auction, and giveaways, all benefitting the foundation's programs benefitting local teens at risk for substance abuse and pregnancy. Local high school bands will provide the entertainment, along with some notable performers from around the valley.

The Purple Xperience: Tribute to Prince

8 p.m., Vilar Performing Arts Center, Beaver Creek

This isn't your average cover band; straight out of Minnesota, The Purple Xperience transports listeners from their seats at the Beav's Vilar Performing Arts Center to the waters of Lake Minnetonka, with a five-piece ensemble of award-winning musicians all jamming to the late great Purple One.

National Dog Day Yappy Hour

5 p.m., Montana's Smokehouse, Avon

Celebrate your pooch with an evening of "yappetizers" in honor of National Dog Day, and dress up Phideaux in his or her best for a doggie fashion show and a chance to win prizes.

9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Eagle Town Park, Eagle

Step into the flow with a free outdoors yoga class led by RR Shakti, followed by a potluck picnic benefitting Ute Springs Experimental Learning Center.

Barre & Brews

5 to 6 p.m., Crazy Mountain Brewery, Edwards

Edwards' Pure Barre studio leaves The Riverwalk for a special class at Crazy Mountain's nearby taproom, followed by beers provided by the Vail Valley brewery.
