48th Annual Ski & Snowboard Swap

Saturday & Sunday (Oct. 21 & 22), Dobson Ice Arena, Vail Village

If you're already looking past fall and into the winter season (at least when it comes to stocking up on new gear), while also trying to pinch pennies during the offseason, head to Ski & Snowboard Club Vail's annual gear swap, which runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday. Free. ($15 early bird admission on Friday, 5 to 10 p.m.).

Saturday (Oct. 21), 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., The Riverwalk, Edwards

Halloween comes a week early to Riverwalk, where $5 buys a pumpkin, treats, and tricks inside a bouncy castle. Proceeds benefit the Eagle River Youth Coalition.

Fall Harvest Festival

Saturday (Oct. 21), 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Nottingham Park, Avon

Games, face painting, yet another bouncy castle, and free pumpkins (for the first 25 families who show up in costume) await at Eagle River Presbyterian Church's pre-Halloween festival.

Pumpkin Carving Potluck

Sunday (Oct. 22), 6 to 9 p.m., Bonfire Brewing, Eagle

Bring a dish to share at Bonfire Brewing's Halloween party for grownups who haven't grown up? The reward: A free pint for hoisting, and gourd for carving. Finished masterpieces will be put on display around the Eagle taproom.
