Utah's much-lauded contemporary dance company comes to Beaver Creek for two Friday shows highlighting human expression through movement.

Yeti Hockey

January 12, 7:45 p.m., Dobson Arena, Vail

Vail's own semi-professional hockey team hits the ice against the Arizona Outlaws in the first night of double-header action.


Walking Mountains Science Center Post-Holiday Recycling Day

January 13, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Walking Mountains Science Center, Avon

Not sure what to do with styrofoam packing material from unwrapped gifts? Bring used Christmas lights, styrofoam, electronics, bulbs, batteries, textiles, and any paper in need of shredding to Walking Mountains Science Center's annual recycling event, where even big items (with some advanced notice) can be disposed of, properly.

Vail Nordic Center Demo Day

January 13, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Vail Nordic Center, Vail

Want to give cross country skiing a try? Head to Vail's Nordic Center for a day of Nordic ski demos, and ski and wax clinics. Representatives from Rossignol, Salomon, and Fischer/Swix will let you take their latest equipment out for a skate or kick-and-glide.

Skadi Vail Women's Ski & Board Fest

January 13, 5 to 9 p.m., Vail Information Center, Lionshead Village

Vail's annual women's ski and snowboarding festival kicks off with a welcome reception Saturday evening, where attendees can mix and mingle as they peruse items to be auctioned off benefitting the Vail Valley Charitable Fund.

January 13, 7:45 p.m., Dobson Ice Arena, Vail

If you missed Friday's action against the Arizona Outlaws, head to Saturday's game as Vail's semi-professional hockey team looks to redeem itself after two tough losses to Sun Valley last weekend.


Skadi Vail Women's Ski & Board Fest

January 14, 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Lionshead Village

A full-day celebration of women-centric ski and snowboarding begins with a yoga session (in collaboration with Helly Hansen) for 40 participants who register in advance, or stop by the mountain base at Lionshead for unlimited 2018 equipment demos. Guided tours with female instructors will be running all day out of Lionshead Village.
