Ski for MS

Vail's annual ski fundraiser benefits Can Do MS, a local nonprofit that transforms lives by delivering health and wellness education programs on exercise, nutrition, symptom management, and motivation to help those with MS and their families ($25). mscando.org

Talons Challenge

February 24, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Beaver Creek Mountain

Beaver Creek’s legendary ski challenge conquers an Everest-sized amount of terrain, with bragging rights going to all those who finish. Over 26,000 vertical feet of black diamond and double black diamond runs awaits Talons Challenge-takers ($35 to $160). eventbrite.com  

Vail Nordic Center Winter Triathlon

February 24, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Vail Nordic Center, Vail

Vail reprises its winter triathlon, with competitors battling it out on a course consisting of a 5k snowshoe, 10k snowbike, and 8k skate ski for his or her winter crown ($30 for individual racers, or $45 per team). pedalpowerbike.com

February Freezer 5k and Polar Plunge

February 24, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Nottingham Park, Avon

Welcoming all families, this year's 5k dash and drip in Nottingham Lake benefits the Special Olympics Colorado. Wear your best costume for the Freezer 5k Race and you could have the chance to win up to $100! All participants will receive a long-sleeve T-shirt (you might need it after the plunge portion of the event) and a one-day pass to the Avon Recreation Center (From $35). avon.org 

TJ Miller at the Vilar

February 24, 7:30 to 9:30p.m., Vilar Performing Arts Center, Beaver Creek
