Fire up for the first weekend in June—the Bonfire Block Party rocks downtown Eagle for three days, plus a fondue dinner in Avon, and a Vail Village bar crawl.

Friday Morning Knitting Camp

June 1, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., Maker+Stitch, Edwards

At Marker+Stitch’s Friday morning summer camp, your child will master the basics of knitting, culminating with an individualized creative project to take home and treasure. This class is for kids who already are familiar with basic knitting skills, or have taken the one-hour private lesson that's recommended prior to camp. $45 per session (a 10% discount is offered for a 10-session punch card).

CPR/First Aid Certification Course 

June 1, 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Eagle River Presbyterian Church

Learn how to save a life this Friday from Emily Selonick—an EMT, practicing first responder and Vail ski patroller. Upon completing the class you will receive the American Heart Association’s infant, child, and adult CPR and first aid certification $35, includes books, materials, certification card and snacks. 

Bonfire Brewing Block Party

June 1, 3:30 p.m., Downtown Eagle

Start your weekend with the opening day of the Bonfire Brewing Block Party. Friday’s musical lineup commences with the first performer, Nicki Bluhm, onstage from 4:30 to 6 p.m., followed by Con Brio and Galactic. In between sets, head over to one of many local vendors, including Landshark Catering, Rocky Mountain Tacos, Caribbean Fusion and Dippin’ Dots, and fill your cup with Bonfire suds at four bar locations in the event. $15/1-day pass, $20/2-day pass, $100/ 2-day VIP experience.

Soul Stretch

June 1, 4 to 6 p.m., The Vitality Center at the Vail Mountain Lodge & Spa, Vail Village

Join Cherry Shakti OM for a weekend long soul stretch, beginning June 1. Classes move through the Divine flow and work on mobility, breathing and concentration. No prior experience is necessary, and participants are welcome to sign up for a la carte sessions ($35 early registration, 2-hour session) or splurge on the whole weekend ($150 early registration). 

First Friday Fondue Night

June 1, 4 to 8 p.m., Ein Prosit, Avon

Ein Prosit kicks of its Fondue Après series with a First Friday Fondue Night featuring Bavarian pretzels, sausages, cucumber salads, cornichons, and of course, plenty of fondue. $17. 

Plant-Based Living Potluck

June 1, 6 to 8 p.m., Miller Ranch Community Center, Edwards

Or if you'd rather take a healthier leap into summer, Vail Valley Plant-Based Living group is hosting a sausage-free potluck at Miller Ranch, introducing carnivores to the benefits (and pleasures) of a plant-based diet.


Lady Golf Camp

June 2, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Vail Golf Club, Vail Village

PGA golf professionals Nathan Mead and Amy Nordeen will help improve your golf game with two afternoon nine-hole rounds including video swing analysis, take-home coaching notes, and instruction on chipping, pitching and putting with a 5:1 student to teacher ratio. $499. 

Bare Roots Food Summit

June 3, 12 to 4 p.m., Vail Valley Salvation Army, Avon

Meet local farmers and ranchers, swap seeds, purchase starters for your own garden, and learn more about soil health and state food policy. This year’s theme is “Growing Resilient Community Fueled by Food” with the goal of bringing together experts, activists and other community members around the common idea of promoting and supporting local and healthy food through education and action. Meet at the garden plot behind the Avon Salvation Army HQ at 322 E Beaver Creek Blvd. 

Bonfire Brewing Block Party

June 2, 2 p.m., Downtown Eagle

The Bonfire Block Party’s second day features Assembly of Dust from  2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., followed by Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Sam Bush and The Record Company. If you’ve already eaten your fill at the event's food carts, graze off the sumptuous sandwich menu at Red Canyon Cafe just up Broadway.

Vail Mountain Bar Crawl

June 2, 7 p.m. to 2 a.m., Vail Village

If you haven't sipped and supped your way through Vail-Beaver Creek's Best Bars issue, hire a professional guide to lead you a crawl through the village's most iconic watering holes while taking advantage of free drinks, free food, prize and giveaways and a swag bag $35. 


Cars & Coffee

June 3, 9 to 11 a.m., The Lion, Lionshead Village

Feast your eyes on more than twenty classic hot rods and luxury sedans, and a tour of The Lion's luxe residences and common spaces, fortified with complimentary coffee and donuts.

Bonfire Brewing Block Party

June 3, 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Downtown Eagle

Eagle's beer-fueled musical weekend concludes with tunes from New Orleans' Dirty Dozen Brass Band coupled with breakfast cooked by Chef Hunter Smith of Big Delicious Catering, including Smith's signature Denver Egg Strada, maple sausage and homefries, paired with mimosas, Bonfire beer and bloody marys made from Vail Valley-based distillery 39 North Spirits. $30.
