Vail-Beaver Creek Weekend Agenda: June 1-3

Fire up for the first weekend in June—the Bonfire Block Party rocks downtown Eagle for three days, plus a fondue dinner in Avon, and a Vail Village bar crawl.

Friday Morning Knitting Camp

June 1, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., Maker+Stitch, Edwards

At Marker+Stitch’s Friday morning summer camp, your child will master the basics of knitting, culminating with an individualized creative project to take home and treasure. CPR/First Aid Certification Course 

June 1, 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Eagle River Presbyterian Church

Learn how to save a life this Friday from Emily Selonick—an EMT, practicing first responder and Vail ski patroller. Upon completing the class you will receive the American Heart Association’s infant, child, and adult CPR and first aid certification $35, includes books, materials, certification card and snacks. vbspro.events 

Bonfire Brewing Block Party

June 1, 3:30 p.m., Downtown Eagle

Start your weekend with the opening day of the Bonfire Brewing Block Party. Friday’s musical lineup commences with the first performer, Nicki Bluhm, onstage from 4:30 to 6 p.m., followed by Con Brio and Galactic. In between sets, head over to one of many local vendors, including Landshark Catering, Rocky Mountain Tacos, Caribbean Fusion and Dippin’ Dots, and fill your cup with Bonfire suds at four bar locations in the event. $15/1-day pass, $20/2-day pass, $100/ 2-day VIP experience. bonfireblockparty.com

Soul Stretch

June 1, 4 to 6 p.m., The Vitality Center at the Vail Mountain Lodge & Spa, Vail Village

Join Cherry Shakti OM for a weekend long soul stretch, beginning June 1. Classes move through the Divine flow and work on mobility, breathing and concentration. First Friday Fondue Night

Meet local farmers and ranchers, swap seeds, purchase starters for your own garden, and learn more about soil health and state food policy. This year’s theme is “Growing Resilient Community Fueled by Food” with the goal of bringing together experts, activists and other community members around the common idea of promoting and supporting local and healthy food through education and action. Bonfire Brewing Block Party

The Bonfire Block Party’s second day features Assembly of Dust from  2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., followed by Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Sam Bush and The Record Company.
