The Vail Jazz Party

August 31, 1 p.m., Lionshead Village & the Vail Marriott

One last chance to catch Vail Jazz's summer-long music festival with one last bash. Friday's show features the likes of Benny Green, John Clayton, and Jeff Hamilton (1 p.m.) in the Vail Jazz Tent in Lionshead Village, before a primetime show at the Grand Ballroom in the Vail Marriott with Renee Marie, the Benny Green Trio and Bill Cunliffe (7 p.m.). Don't miss: the after-hours performance of Tamir Hendelman, Zach Brown, Quentin Baxter, Jeff Clayton, Byron Stripling, Wycliffe Gordon (10:35 p.m.; a la carte tickets from $55, festival passes from $375).

Vail Village's annual culinary tasting tour kicks off with a moveable feast in eight Vail Village restaurants, shops and galleries, where a bevy of small plates and drinks await ($75).


Culinary Cruisers

September 1, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Vail Village

Gourmet on Gore's Gourmet Let's Go lineup balances outdoor activities with the festival's signature fare—like Saturday morning's Culinary Cruisers event, a guided snacking tour via bicycle ($50, plus $24 bike rental).


September 1, 11 a.m to 6 p.m., Beaver Creek Village

The valley's month of Oktoberfest celebrations officially begins with a traditional keg tapping and opening of the festival's bier garden at Beaver Creek Village, with live music (including the Beav's very own  Helmut Fricker, and oompa stylings courtesy Trachtenkapelle Lech, a brass band touring from the Beav's Austrian sister resort), a bratwurst eating content, and a stein hoisting competition.

Gourmet on Gore Open Air Tasting

September 1, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Vail Village

Stroll around Vail Village as you snack (and sip) on small plates prepared by the valley's best chefs.

The Vail Jazz Party

September 1, 11:30 a.m., Lionshead Village & Vail Marriott

The Vail Jazz Party rocks the Lionshead big top from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, before keeping things sizzling well after dark, with performances by the likes of the Jeff Hamilton Trio and Rene Marie at the Vail Marriott Ballroom (7:45 to 10:30 p.m.). Oktoberfest Shuffle

September 2, 7:30 to 11:30 a.m., Beaver Creek Mountain

Put down the stein and hit the trails for a good cause, as entry fees for the 5, 10, or 1k trail runs benefit the Vail Valley Charitable Fund ($40 adults, $30 kids 6 to 18, kids under 6 free).

Gospel Prayer Meetin'

September 2, 9 a.m., Lionshead Village

Vail Jazz goes gospel, with a special Sunday morning performance by Niki Harris (a la carte tickets from $55, festival passes from $375).

Yoga + Beats

September 2, 9 to 10 a.m., Mountain Plaza Lawn, Vail Village

A free Gourmet Let's Go yoga session on the ski yard lawn by Gondola One, with live music.

Trail to Table Hike

September 2, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Vail Village

Gourmet Let's Go hits the trails; earn your appetite with a guided hike on Vail Mountain followed by a lunch spread ($40).

Gourmet on Gore Open Air Tasting

September 2, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Vail Village

The eating tour around Vail Village continues for another day, although, Sunday's All Day Rosé Bar along the Gore Creek Promenade is the real talk of the town.


September 2, 11 a.m to 6 p.m., Beaver Creek Village

Sunday's your last chance to munch on pretzels and sip on bier during Beaver Creek's Oktoberfest celebrations. Just don't forget your lederhosen: the final day features a best-dressed award.

The Vail Jazz Party

Stop by the Vail Jazz Tent in Lionshead Village to catch some of the festival's best acts (performances at 11:30 a.m., 12:40, 1:50, 3, and 4:10 p.m.) before shimmying over to the Vail Marriott for evening tunes by Adrian Cunningham, Bill Cunliffe, Elias Bailey, Cameron MacIntosh, Peter Bernstein, Eric Alexander, Sean Jones, and others (performances at 7, 8:10, and 9:45 p.m.). Although, the show's not over— John Clayton and friends headline the Marriott's First Chair Café starting at 10:45 p.m. (a la carte tickets from $55, festival passes from $375).


Yoga on the Green

September 3, 8 to 9 a.m., Vail Village

Vail Village's newest outdoor retailer (Lole) hosts a Gourmet on Gore yoga session on the Solaris green, followed by breakfast and coffee.

Brunch Off Bridge Street

September 3, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Vail Village

How do you wrap up a three-day-weekend-long festival dedicated to food and drink? You transform Vail Village into a walkable brunch buffet, with bottomless mimosas paired with views of the Gore Range.

The Vail Jazz Party
