Mount Powell 150th Anniversary Celebration

September 21, 2 to 6 p.m., Piney River Ranch, Piney Road, Vail

Piney River Ranch is throwing a Friday afternoon bash in honor of 150 years since John Wesley Powell first climbed his namesake peak with a barbecue, live music, and a guided hike to the mountain base, which is visible on the other side of Piney Lake from the ranch (pineyriverranch.com).

Global Mala Celebration

September 22, 9 to 11 a.m., Solaris, Vail Village

Get into the weekend flow with a free, yoga practice led by Janet Casson, that will take attendees on a journey that includes 108 sun salutations (vailathleticclub.com).

Fall Food & Wine Classic Bike and Brunch

September 22, 9 to 11 a.m., Vail Village

The valley's last food and wine festival before the snow starts to fall kicks off with a 12-mile bike tour that ends at the Four Seasons, where a mid-day feast awaits ($70 per person, tasteofvail.com).

Berry Picker Hike & Brunch on Vail Mountain

If you'd rather start your day on two feet as opposed to two wheels, opt for the Fall Food & Wine Classic's foliage-filled hike on Vail Mountain's Berry Pick Trail, followed by an awaiting lunch spread at Mid Vail lodge ($55 per person, tasteofvail.com).

Yoga in the Garden

The Fall Food & Wine Classic's Saturday morning flow takes place in the Betty Ford Alpine Gardens, before heading to The Remedy at the Four Seasons for brunch ($20 per person, tasteofvail.com). 

The Fall Food & Wine Classic Grand Tasting

September 22, 4 to 7:30 p.m., Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater, Vail

The Fall Food & Wine Classic culminates in an open-air tasting featuring small plates prepared by 13 of the valley's eateries, and over 50 wines from the Southern Hemisphere ($85 per person, tasteofvail.com).

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah at the Vilar

September 22, 7:30 p.m., Vilar Performing Arts Center, Beaver Creek

The VPAC's autumn-spanning Underground Sound Series kicks off with Brooklyn-based indie rockers Clap Your Hands Say Yeah ($30 per person, $125 for a concert series pass, vilarpac.org).
