If you're looking for ways to give back this Thanksgiving (November 22), count a day on the slopes as one way to accomplish that goal. Vail and Beaver Creek are partnering with with EpicPromise—the community, environment, and charity-focused wing of Vail Resorts—and donating one can per Epic Pass scanned to the local Vail Valley Salvation Army in the passholder's name—meaning your EpicMix stats count towards how many vertical feet you racked up on the hill and a little bit of holiday do-gooding.

Although, if you're charitable giving goes beyond turkey day turns on the hill, you can drop off cans (or volunteer) at the Salvation Army's Avon office, or consider donating to the organization (or any of the numerous charitable organizations around Eagle County) on Colorado Gives Day (December 4), a statewide fundraising drive that's raised more than $200 million for Colorado nonprofits since it's inception in 2010.
