Vail Village's annual tree lighting ceremony takes place on Sunday evening.


Santa & the Babies

December 14, 11 a.m., Vail Public Library, Vail

Kids 3 and under are invited to Santa's Workshop at the Vail Public Library, where toys, snack, and Santa himself will be on hand spreading holiday cheer.

The Williams Brothers Band at Haymeadow Park Grand Opening 

December 14, 3:30 to 6 p.m., Beaver Creek Mountain

Beaver Creek is celebrating the opening of its learning area, Haymeadow Park, with live music from The Williams Brothers Band—which should pair perfectly with single scoops of ice cream, courtesy of the resort's brand new, vintage-inspired Ice Cream Parlour.

Gingerbread Houses at Alpine Arts Center

December 14, 4 to 7 p.m., Alpine Arts Center, Edwards

If you're looking for a crafty way to get into the holiday spirit, drop in to Alpine Arts Center at the Riverwalk for a special holiday-themed gingerbread house making tutorial for all ages ($25 per person).

Snow Days Concert

December 14, 6 p.m., Ford Park, Vail

Wildermiss opens for Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats at Ford Park for Vail's annual Snow Days (free!) Friday night concert.

Ugly Sweater Christmas Party

December 14, 6 p.m. to 12 a.m., Bonfire Brewing, Eagle

Eagle's Bonfire Brewing and Yoga Off Broadway are teaming up for an ugly sweater themed holiday party at the brewpub's taproom, with live music from the Jay Roemer Band (6 to 9 p.m.) and DJ Kirby K and Adam Ross (9 p.m. to 12 a.m.) and free entry to any and all attendees.

Ugly Sweater Pub Crawl

December 14, 10 p.m., Vail Village 

The Vail Snow Days celebration continues late into the night on Friday evening, with a pub crawl making stops at Vendetta's, Pazzo's, and Bridge Street Bar. Just don't forget your ugly sweater to get into the holiday theme.


Holiday Sweater Run

December 15, 8:30 a.m., Vail Village

Don't put away those ugly holiday sweaters just yet, as Saturday morning's 2.5-mile run (starting at Checkpoint Charlie in Vail Village) encouragers runners to don their most hideous holiday knitwear for a chance to win prizes (and keep warm!) during the event ($10 per kid, $20 per adult, $50 per family of 4).

Welcome Winter 15k Run

December 15, 9 a.m., Color Coffee Roasters, Eagle

Saturday morning's 15k, snow packed loop starts and ends at Eagle's Color Coffee Roasters, and is free to all participants (so you can save your cash for pulls of locally roasted espresso when you cross the finish).

Light Up the Night Pub Crawl

December 15, 2:30 to 5:30 p.m., Vail Village

If you'd rather crawl during après-ski hours than after dark, join Vail Snow Days' Light Up the Night Pub Crawl for a tour of Vail's slopeside Express Lift Bar, Pazzo's, and Los Amigos.

Nature at NIght

December 15, 4 to 5 p.m., Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa, Avon

The Westin and Walking Mountains Science Center join forces for an interactive lesson on Colorado wildlife throughout the winter, with Saturday's (free!) exhibition focused on "Beaks, Feets, and Feathers."

Snow Days Concert

December 15, 6 p.m., Ford Park

Saturday night's Snow Days show features The Devon Allman Project and Shakey Graves (for free!) at Ford Park.

A Show for the Holidays!

December 15, 7 p.m., Route 6 Café, Eagle-Vail

The Vail Valley Theatre Company welcomes one and all to its holiday showcase at Eagle-Vail's Route 6 Café, featuring holiday-themed Broadway hits from over the years ($50 per person). 

The Oak Ridge Boys at the Vilar

December 15, 7:30 p.m., Vilar Performing Arts Center, Beaver Creek

Country music supergroup The Oak Ridge Boys pay a visit to the Vilar for one night and one night only ($85 per person).


Santa Brunch at Harvest

December 16, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., The Sonnenalp Club, Edwards

The Sonnenalp Club in Edwards' Singletree neighborhood hosts a Sunday Brunch spread, complete with a cookie decorating station and visits from the World's Tallest Elf and Santa himself. Reservations are a must ($38 per adult, $18 per child).

Bluegrass & Bloodies

December 16, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Tavern on the Square, Lionshead Village

Local bluegrass band The Runaway Grooms serenade the crowd at The Arabelle's Tavern on the Square for a special Sunday brunch-themed show, complete with a Bloody Mary bar.

Vail Village Christmas Tree Lighting

December 16, 5 p.m., Slifer Square, Vail Village

Hot cocoa and holiday cookies will be on hand for Vail Village's annual Christmas tree lighting, with visits from the Town of Vail mayor, the Vail Children's Choir, and Santa scheduled for the event, too.

Irish Dance Christmas

December 16, 7:30 p.m., Vilar Performing Arts Center, Beaver Creek

The Irish Dance Theatre Company performs its Celtic-themed Christmas special (described as "Riverdance meets the Nutcracker" by Irish Dancing Magazine) for one joyous night at the Vilar (tickets starting at $40 per person).
