Guided Snowshoe Excursion & Gourmet Luncheon

January 26, 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Beaver Creek Mountain

First up on the Friday edition of Beaver Creek's Winter Culinary Weekend: a guided snowshoe tour through McCoy Park, before arriving at Grouse Mountain Grill, where a feast with wine pairings awaits ($150 per person).

Cooking Demonstration: The Art of Dessert featuring Guest Chef Emma Bengtsson

January 25, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Toscanini, Beaver Creek

Next up on the Winter Culinary Weekend agenda? A cooking demonstration with Michelin-starred guest chef Emma Bengtsson of NYC eatery Aquavit at Beaver Creek's Toscanini restaurant ($60 per person).

Village Après: Craft Burgers & Beers

January 25, 3 to 6 p.m., Beaver Creek Village

In honor of Beaver Creek's Winter Culinary Weekend, Beaver Creek Village transforms into a walking après-ski venue, with Colorado craft beers and burgers to snack (and sip) on after you get off the slopes.

July in January: Salute to the 4th

January 25, 5 to 8 p.m., Nottingham Park & Pavilion, Avon

If you (like everyone else) missed this year's 4th of July fireworks show at Nottingham Lake due to the Stage 2 fire restrictions, join the festivities at Nottingham Lake on Friday night, when the town of Avon hosts a do-over "Salute to the 4th" pyrotechnic show at dusk. Also on the night's itinerary: free ice skating, and a "Chilly Chili Cookoff" once the sun goes down.

Friday Afternoon Club

January 25, 6 to 9 p.m., The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa, Avon

The Westin hosts a winter edition of Friday Afternoon Club in its hotel lobby, with drink specials ($5 beers, $7 margaritas) and happy hour-priced tacos. Be sure to stop by the Westin's newly opened women's boutique, White Sage, which will be hosting a grand opening party the same evening (with discounts and Champagne) til 8 p.m.

Scotty, Rodney, and Jake at 10th Mountain Whiskey

January 25, 7 to 10 p.m., 10th Mountain Whiskey Tasting Room, Vail Village

Scotty Stoughton and and Rodeny Coquia of Bonfire Dub join Vail Valley rocker Jake Wolf for a night of live music at 10th Mountain Whiskey's Bridge Street tasting room.

Shaken & Stirred

January 25, 7 to 11 p.m., Colorado Tasting Room, Beaver Creek 

If you like whiskey (and hors d’oeuvres, and dancing) head to the Winter Culinary Weekend's Friday night cocktail party, where a live band (and plenty of Johnnie Walker whiskey tastings) provides the entertainment ($60 per person).

Step off the slopes and peruse Beaver Creek's après-ski village in honor of Winter Culinary Weekend, complete with small plates, drink specials, and live music.

Kids' Cooking Classes

January 26, 3 to 4p.m. & 4:45 to 5:45 p.m., Beaver Creek Village

Beaver Creek's walking après-ski village hosts a cooking class for aspiring Emerils, as Chef Ally Stephens hosts two culinary classes (4 p.m. for kids 6-8, 4:45 for kids 9-12) for kids ($25 per child).

Synesthesia: Culinary Showcase & Concert with Lord Huron, hosted by Geoffrey Zakarian

January 26, 6 to 10 p.m., Vilar Performing Arts Center, Beaver Creek

The biggest party of Beaver Creek's Winter Culinary Weekend goes down Saturday night at the Vilar, as the event's guest chefs and the culinary minds behind Beaver Creek's hottest restaurant gather for a tasting, followed by a performance (starting at 8:30 p.m.) by indie-folk rocker Lord Huron ($175 per person).

The Werks at Agave

January 26, 9:30 p.m., Agave Nightclub, Avon

Funk rockers The Werks visit Avon's go-to haunt for late night music ($10-$15 per person).


Beaver Creek First Tracks & Gourmet Breakfast

January 27, 7:30 to 10 a.m., Beaver Creek Mountain

What's better than hitting the slopes at the Beav before the lifts (officially) start spinning for business? Getting first tracks and then making your way to Allie's Cabin, where a gourmet breakfast will fuel you back up before you head back out on the mountain ($150 per adult, $75 per child).

Ski and Snowboard Club Vail's (free!) winter race series for the valley's littlest racers continues, with no ski club membership needed for Sunday's slopestyle and halfpipe competitions.
