Vail-Beaver Creek Weekend Agenda: January 4-6

Christmas tree bonfires, Vail Yeti hockey, and plenty of live music get us through this first weekend of 2019.

10th Mountain Parade

January 4, 5:45 to 6:45 p.m., Vail Village

Skiers dressed in the all-white uniforms worn by the original 10th Mountain Division soldiers lead a torchlight parade down Vail Mountain, where they'll meet up with military veterans and march down Bridge Street to the 10th Mountain Soldier statue. Hot cocoa will be served at the base of Gondola One, and the Colorado Ski and Snowboard Museum will stay open late for anyone looking to brush up on their local history (and rub elbows with local 10th Mountain veterans). skimuseum.net

Christmas Tree Pickup and Bonfire

January 4, 6 to 8 p.m., Little Beach Park, Minturn

If you're ready to put the holiday season behind you (or at least find a creative way to dispose of your Christmas tree), head over to Minturn's Little Beach Park, where you can haul your tree (Minturn residents can leave theirs curbside for pickup) to the annual bonfire and enjoy hot cocoa and s'mores while you watch the festivities. gominturn.com

Vail Yeti Hockey

January 4, 7:45 p.m., Dobson Ice Arena, Vail

Vail's own semi-professional ice hockey team takes on its arch rival, the Breckenridge Vipers, for two nights of action at Dobson Ice Arena. vailyetihockey.com

SNAP!! 90's Dance Party

January 4, 9:30 p.m., Agave Nightclub, Avon

A trio of DJs are set to to rock the dance floor til the wee hours of the morning at Avon's go-to place for late night tunes ($10-$15 per person). agaveavon.com

Cheer at Beaver Creek

January 5, 4 p.m., Beaver Creek

Beaver Creek Village hosts its final weekend of holiday Cheer, with a screening of "Frozen." But first(!), take the kids for a dance lesson with Anna and Elsa (4:30 p.m.), before you settle in for the show at 5:15 p.m. beavercreek.com

Vail Yeti Hockey

The Eagle Valley Lions Clubs hosts the town of Eagle's annual Christmas tree bonfire, with hot cocoa served during the main event. 970-328-9625

The New Mastersounds at Shakedown

January 6, 8:30 p.m., Shakedown Bar, Vail Village

British funk rockers The New Mastersounds cross the pond and take up residence at Vail Village's late night haunt for live music, Shakedown Bar, for one night and one night only ($28.16 per person). eventbrite.com
