The Blue Sky Cup

February 8, 7:30 a.m., Vail Mountain

If you're looking to test your grit (and your leg muscles), grab three or more of your hardest skiing friends and sign up for the Blue Sky Cup, where teams ski at least 40,000 vertical feet collectively and the winning team is decided by most vert skied. Proceeds from the event go towards research for rheumatoid arthritis ($99 to $15o per person).

3 Martini Lunch

February 8, 1 to 4 p.m., White Bison Restaurant & Bar, Vail Village

If you're looking to up the après-ski ante, reserve a seat at White Bison's 3 Martini Lunch, which comes with three courses paired with a martini apiece ($60 per person).

Harry Potter Book Day Party

February 8, 5 to 8 p.m., Vail Public Library, Vail

Wizards and muggles alike are invited to the Vail Public Library's Harry Potter party, with pints of butterbeer, slices of pizza from Blue Moose, a character costume contest, and a screening of the fourth film ("Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire") set for the event. 

Catch Me If You Can

February 8, 6:15 p.m., Brush Creek Pavilion, Eagle

Eagle County's own theater troupe, the Porchlight Players, host this year's Valentine's day dinner theater production, "Catch Me If You Can." Tickets come with dinner, hors d'oeuvres, dessert, drinks, and (of course) a show ($60 per person).


Yoga + Beats at lululemon

February 9, 8:30 a.m., lululemon, Vail Village

Get into the weekend flow with a special complimentary yoga session (accompanied by music from DJ Kirby K) at the Vail Village lululemon.

Vail Derail Winter Bike Race

February 9, 4 p.m., Vail Nordic Center, Vail

If you just can't wait til mountain biking season, head over to Vail Nordic Center for the second of four races in the Vail Grail Winter Race Series. Beginnner racers can opt for a 6-mile loop around the course, or, if you think you can handle it, sign up for the longer 12-mile route ($25-$25 for adults, $15-$25 for kids).

Project Funway 2019

February 9, 6 to 11 p.m., Dobson Ice Arena, Vail

The most important rule for the Education Foundation of Eagle County's annual runway-inspired fundraiser? Catwalk entries can be made with anything—except fabric. The runway show starts at 7:30 p.m., with cocktails, snacks, and a silent auction kicking off the festivities at 6 p.m. (tickets start at $95 per person, with VIP packages available).

BalletX Nicolo Fonto World Premier

February 9, 7 p.m., Vilar Performing Arts Center, Beaver Creek

Vail Dance favorites and contemporary ballet troupe extrordinaire, BalletX, visits the stage at the VPAC for a world premier performance of original choreography from Nicolo Fonte ($69 per adult, $25 per student).


Beaver Creek Winter Snowshoe Series

February 10, 8:30 a.m., Beaver Creek Mountain

If you're looking to get your heart pumping, the second of Beaver Creek's three-race is going down in Beaver Creek Village, with 5k and 10k courses for racers to choose from($105 per person).
