Eagle hosts the Western Colorado Outdoor & Sportsman Expo for another year, with tutorials on everything from elk calls and mushrooms foraging on the scheduled lineup of events, plus a chance to check out plenty of new gear ($5 to $8). westcoexpo.com

The final day of the Western Colorado Outdoor & Sportsman Expo features a discussion on the Rocky Mountain elk population (10 a.m. & 1 p.m.), and a demonstration on wilderness safety, plus plenty of opportunities to check out new gear. westcoexpo.com

Spring Back to Vail

With just over a week left til Vail Mountain calls it quits for the season, Spring Back to Vail celebrates the epic snow year with two free concerts. Saturday's event roots reggae group Steel Pulse with Australian singer songwriter Xavier Rudd also part of the night's show. vail.com

10th Mountain Whiskey Dinner

Beaver Creek's Closing Day

April 14, 8:30 a.m., Beaver Creek Mountain

One last chance to cruise around the Beav until the Winter 2019/20 season. Just remember: not all lifts will be running (Haymeadow Express Gondola (#1), Rose Bowl Express Lift (#4), Red Buffalo Express (#5), Centennial Express Lift (#6), Cinch Express Lift (#8), Birds of Prey Express Lift (#9), Grouse Mountain Express Lift (#10), Bachelor Gulch Express Lift (#16) will be operational on Closing Day), and you can head to the afterparty at Avon's bierhaus, Ein Prosit, starting at 5 p.m. beavercreek.com

The World Pond Skimming Championships

April 14, 3 to 5 p.m., Golden Peak, Vail Mountain

If you haven't been to the annual pond skimming competition at Golden Peak on Vail Mountain, here's what you can expect: costumed competitors pointing it down Golden Peak and (attempting to) fly across an awaiting pool of snowmelt at the bottom. Although, if you've already witness the carnage in years past, registration is open to all and you can sign up at Golden Peak at noon. vail.com
