If you haven't been to the annual pond skimming competition at Golden Peak on Vail Mountain, here's what you can expect: costumed competitors pointing it down Golden Peak and (attempting to) fly across an awaiting pool of snowmelt at the bottom. Although, if you've already witness the carnage in years past, registration is open to all and you can sign up at Golden Peak at noon.
