Britt Makes Art Showcase

May 3, 5 to 7 p.m., Vail Mountain Coffee & Tea Company, Minturn

Vail Mountain Coffee & Tea Company's local artist-of-the-month Britt Felton throws a kickoff reception with an assortment her work on display, and hot beverages to sip on while you peruse the exhibit.

House With a Yard

May 3, 7 p.m., Bonfire Brewing, Eagle

Acoustic folk rock band House With a Yard heads to downvalley taproom Bonfire Brewing for a night of live music.


Doggie Dash 5k

May 4, 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Nottingham Park, Avon

Lace up your racing shoes and grab your pup for a 5k Fido-friendly race followed by an afterparty (with food, drinks, and live music). All proceeds benefit local nonprofit Youth365 ($30 per team).

Bridge Street Derby Party 

May 4, 2 to 6 p.m., 10th Mountain Whiskey & Spirits Co., Vail Village

Tickets to 10th Mountain Whiskey & Spirits's annual derby bash on Bridge Street include a pewter cup (filled with mint juleps, of course), and southern style BBQ to feast on while you wash the main event.

Vail Derby Party

May 4, 3 p.m., The Remedy, Four Seasons, Vail Village

Put on your Sunday best and don't forget your big hat—The Remedy at the Four Seasons is throwing a Kentucky Derby party and airing coverage of the annual horse race on its plethora of larger-than-life flat screen TVs. Proceeds from the event go to Vail's Children's Garden of Learning ($35 to $50 per person).


Cinco de Mayo at Maya

May 5, 3:30 p.m., The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa, Avon

The valley's go-to place for Latin-infused cuisine is hosting a Cinco de Mayo party in honor of the day, with happy hour deals on specialty margaritas and tacos in honor of the occasion.
