Hovey & Harrison's garage doors are opening up for the season every Friday afternoon, when local bands will be on hand to serenade après-hikers, and drink and food specials are all part of the fun. The cafè's Friday festivities kick off this Friday (June 15) and run each week through August 23.

Eagle Half Marathon & 5k

June 16, 7:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., Brush Creek Elementary, Eagle

The Endurance Race Series tackles a stop on singletrack in Eagle that's dubbed the "hilliest course the series has to offer." Runners can opt for either a half marathon, or 10k run ($85 for the half marathon, $55 for the 10k).

Minturn Market

June 16, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Minturn

Minturn's downtown market, which has everything from booths of locally made jam and honey to jewelry and even a fortune teller, kicks off the summer season on Saturday (rain or shine), and runs through September 7.

Bindu Memorial Run

June 16, 9 a.m., Maloit Park, Minturn

The first-ever Bindu Memorial Run honors Bindu Pomeroy, a teacher at Vail Ski and Snowboard Academy and avid snowboarder who passed away following an accident in the backcountry of East Vail early last winter. The course navigates 5k on dirt around Maloit Park in Minturn, with proceeds going towards future mindfulness classes at the ski academy, and a permanent memorial to the longtime local ($26 per adult, $16 per child).

Café Grand Opening

June 16, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Hygge Life, Eagle-Vail

Scandinavian home design store Hygge Life (pronounced "hoo-ga") is hosting a grand opening party for its brand-new coffee cafè next to its shop in Eagle-Vail. The shop will have $1 coffee drinks all day long, plus baked treats from The Rose in Edwards.

Father's Day B-B-B Special

June 15, 3:30 p.m., Maya at the Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa, Avon

If you think Dad deserves a weekend instead of just a day (or if he really likes barbecue, beer, and bourbon—hence the "B-B-B"), head to Maya at the Westin for a BBQ spread smoked in-house, plus free(!) beer from Crazy Mountain and $5 bourbon cocktails throughout the event ($50 per adult, $40 per child).

Daddy's Girl Tutu 2k

June 16, 9 to 10:30 a.m., Nottingham Park, Avon

Ready, set, go to Nottingham Park for a special Father's Day 2k race on Sunday morning. Tutus are "strongly encouraged" for the event, as are Mom and any other family members wanting to join in on the fun ($5 per person, $10 per person on race day).

Vail Farmers' Market & Art Show

June 16, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Vail Village

Vail Village's sprawling summer market pops up for the first time this season in Vail Village. And while the market is light on the produce, it's the perfect place to pick up everything from custom, handmade gifts to jumbo-sized prints of Vail Mountain to doggy treats—and stock up on plenty of snacks to sample as you stroll the goods.

Father's Day Brunch at Vista

June 16, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Country Club of the Rockies, Edwards

Treat Dad to a Father's Day Brunch on the Green at Vista in Edwards, which will be carving up tenderloin with all the fixings in honor of the day ($35 per adult, $20 per child).

LUAU Party!

June 16, 2 to 6 p.m., Root & Flower, Vail Village

Vail Village's coffee-by-day, wine-by night nook (aka Two Arrows Coffee and Root & Flower) is hosting a Hawaiian-themed party in honor of Sunday funday, complete with a DJ, tiki drinks, and a commemorative cup for the first 20 who arrive dressed in their luau best.
