Beaver Creek Wine & Spirits Festival

Indulge in a culinary weekend full of educational seminars and unique tasting events in gorgeous outdoor venues during the 13th annual Beaver Creek Wine & Spirits Festival on August 8–11, 2019. Vintners and culinary experts from around the world gather for this celebration of potent potables including Rosé Soiree, Women in Wine and Pinot Noir Uncorked. With the Grand Tasting showcasing Beaver Creek’s culinary talent, this weekend is a must-attend for gourmands. (Ticket prices vary for individual events; some events include complimentary admission)

Martha Graham Dance Company

Aug 9, 7:30 p.m., Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater, Vail

Vail Dance Festival welcomes the legendary Martha Graham Dance Company as they present a powerful program of classics and new works, featuring the Graham masterpiece “Appalachian Spring.” Breckenridge Festival Orchestra will perform the iconic Aaron Copeland score for this special evening. (Lawn seating is $27, reserved seating starts at $50)

Vail Jazz at The Riverwalk: Quemando

Aug 9, 6 p.m., The Riverwalk Amphitheater, Edwards

Quemando (“burning” in Spanish) is Colorado’s hottest salsa band. This 12-piece group brings infectious energy to each show, covering legendary Latin tracks and artists as well as other performers like Sinatra and The Beatles. This free show is part of Vail Jazz’s summer-long concert series.


Minturn Farmers Market

Aug 10, 9 a.m.–2 p.m., Downtown Minturn

Now in its 21st season, the Minturn Farmer’s Market is a blend of artisan crafts and gourmet food. Situated in picturesque downtown Minturn, it’s just as much fun to eat breakfast and listen to the live music as it is to peruse the various vendors selling gifts, jewelry, items for the home and homemade crafts. Plus, there’s a goat petting zoo for the kids!  

KEEN Family Mud Run

Aug 10, 4:30 p.m., Gondola One, Vail

Get ready to get muddy! The Kids Adventure Games (KAG) are already sold out, but families and individuals of all ages and ability levels are invited to come get some exercise and test their competitive streak during the KEEN Family Mud Run: a one-mile, mud-filled race that takes place during the KAG weekend. All mud runners will receive a race gift and can take advantage of the "cool" ways to wash off at the finish line. (Kids’ entry fees are $12 for pre-registration; adults are $24. Family pricing is also available.)

Ballet Hispánico

Aug 10, 7:30 p.m., Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater, Vail

Ballet Hispánico, America’s leading Latino dance organization, will present a new program for Vail Dance Festival’s closing night. The Company debuted at the Vail Dance Festival last year and is known for exploring the diversity of Latino culture through a fusion of classical, Latin and contemporary dance powered by theatricality and passion. A post-performance party, complete with a salsa band, will close out the festival with style. (Lawn seating is $27, reserved seating starts at $50)


BLT + Leonard Patton

Aug 11, 8 p.m., Remedy Bar at Four Seasons Resort Vail

The Remedy at Four Seasons Resort Vail has become a “must hang” spot for jazz on Sunday nights. Throughout the summer, Tony Gulizia, Vail’s keyboard guru and ambassador of jazz, and drummer Brian Loftus welcome an array of visiting jazz luminaries to sit in on their sets as part of Vail Jazz at The Remedy, creating an evening of free, lively musical concoctions. This week, the duo welcomes vocalist Leonard Patton to the mix.
