Black Friday 5K Walk

Nov.ember 29, 10 a.m., Westin Riverfront, Avon 

#OptOutside this Black Friday with a 5K Walk at the Westin Riverfront in Avon.

Kris Kringle Market

November 29, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Vail Village

This European-style market is the perfect place to pick up a special memento for the holiday season. Enjoy Glühwein and beer in Vail during the market as you browse products from more than 25 local purveyors and artisans.

39th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony

November 29, 1 to 7 p.m., Beaver Creek Village

A Thanksgiving week tradition, the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony brings friends and families together for a celebration of winter, snowsports and the ensuing holiday season. The day begins with the Holiday Market in the Beaver Creek Village from 1 – 5 p.m.; Santa’s Workshop takes place at Powder 8 from 3- 5 p.m. Then, at 5 p.m., the lighting of the Beaver Creek Village tree illuminates the hearts of all assembled.

Ice Skating Celebration

November 29, 3:30 to 4 p.m., Solaris and Arrabelle skating rinks 

The Vail Ice Skating Club will whirl and twirl, lighting up the ice and showcasing their talent at the Solaris and Arrabelle outdoor skating rinks. Free.

Revely Vail Cooking Class: Grilled Cheese with Chef David Sanchez

November 29, 5 to 7 p.m., Grill on the Gore, Vail

It’s the cheesiest celebration in town: Kids have the opportunity to join Executive Chef David Sanchez for “Fun with Grilled Cheese” and “Mac Attack Mac N Cheese” in the kitchen at Grill on the Gore at the Vail Clubhouse. This hands-on cooking class includes cooking fundamentals along with the great recipes for no-box-needed meals. Tickets start at $25.

Explosion of Lights Walk

November 29, 5:30 to 6 p.m., Lionshead and Vail Village

Enjoy an illuminated stroll through Vail. Beginning in Lionshead, participants can “ooh” and “ahh” at the lights in Lionshead before snagging a hot chocolate and heading to Vail to admire more lights, ending at Slifer Square.

10th Mountain Parade

November 23, 6 p.m., Gondola One at Mountain Plaza, Vail Village

Learn more about the area’s ties to the 10th Mountain Division in the first iteration of this special parade. Skiers dressed in traditional 10th Mountain Division Ski Trooper uniforms will perform a Torchlight Ski Down to the base of Gondola One, followed by a parade of military veterans, also in traditional uniform, marching from Gondola One down Bridge Street, across the Covered Bridge and finishing at the 10th Mountain statue.

Vail Astronomy Nights

November 29, 6 to 8 p.m., Betty Ford Alpine Garden, Vail 

Join a professional astronomer on an exploration of the night sky using museum-grade, state-of-the-art telescopes. With the potential to view the moon, Jupiter, the Ring Nebula, constellations and more, it promises to be a magical night for both experienced stargazers and first-time viewers (free).

Irish Dance Theatre presents The Celtic Gift: An Irish Dance Holiday Fairytale

November 29, 8 p.m., Vilar Performing Arts Center, Beaver Creek

Irish Dance is rooted in tradition but is always expanding the art form. Don’t miss this special performance from Irish Dance Theater, the only dance organization in North America highlighting the form like this (tickets start at $36).

November 30, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Vail Village

Live Music with Jennifer Hartswick & Nick Cassarino and Natalie Cressman & Ian Faquini

November 30, 3 to 6 p.m., Gondola One, Vail Village

Jennifer Hartswick and Natalie Cressman (both of the Trey Anastasio Band) will be joined by Nick Cassarino and Ian Faquini for live music by Gondola One for an après ski celebration.

Explosion of Lights Walk

November 30, 5:30 to 6 p.m., Lionshead and Vail Village

If you just can’t get enough holiday lights, head to Lionshead, to “ooh” and “ahh” at the lights before heading to Vail to admire even more festive illuminations, ending at Slifer Square. 

Vail Tree Lighting

November 30, 6 p.m., Slifer Square, Vail Village

It’s the official start of the season: Join the Vail community as we kick-off to the holiday season with the annual tree lighting. This year, Andy Daly, Town of Vail mayor, and Sheika Gramshammer will light the tree accompanied by music by The Turn Table Revue and more.


15 Days of Minturn Kickoff Party

Dec. 1, 4-6 p.m., Vail Mountain Coffee & Tea, Minturn

The Town of Minturn is celebrating its 115th Anniversary with a series of special events December 1st though 15th. Kicking off this event is the Kathy Morrow Trio and works by the Vail Valley Art Guild. Free. Presented by the Vail Jazz Foundation.
