After being sidelined with an MCL injury for six weeks, the Edwards hometown hero closed out the 2023–24 slalom season by winning her eighth crystal globe at the Alpine Ski World Cup in Ǻre, Sweden, throwing solar-eclipse-size shade on all the haters from the 2022 Winter Games.

After winning his first World Cup podium with a third-place finish at the Stifel Palisades Tahoe Cup in February, the Ski Club Vail alum (and Edwards son) who caught the world’s eye with a zebra-pattered haircut and a near-miss medal at the Beijing Winter Olympics, ended the giant slalom season with an 11th-place world ranking, his best yet.

Sullivan Middaugh

The 20-year-old son of 15-time XTERRA world champion Josiah Middaugh (who beat his dad with an XTERRA win at Beaver Creek in 2022) placed third at the Americas Triathlon Championships in March; you may not see Sullivan at the Paris Games this summer, but after joining USA Triathlon’s Project Podium Olympic development team, his eyes are on Los Angeles in 2028.
