In olden times—the ’70s—après ski meant hitting the bar closest to the slopes in full ski regalia. Today, après has grown up. You’re more selective about where you après, and often the after-party gives way to a dinner party. With a few key items, you can go from the slopes to the streets in comfort and style.

Bogner “Elaine” ski pants
In stone (pictured) or beige, these pants are as stylish off the slopes as on. $449 at Pepi’s, Vail Village

Wooden Ships “Black Skye Poncho”
A patterned poncho makes a warm and striking cover for any base layer. $107 at Valley Girl, Avon

de Corato cowl-neck scarf
Fend off the chills and add color with a burgundy cashmere scarf. $500 at de Corato, Vail Village

Chrome Hearts “Club Sandwich” glasses
