Celebrating 39 years!
In 1982, owner Connie Irons renovated one of the first buildings in Edwards, a historic log cabin from the 1940s that operated as a gas/service station. The Gashouse Restaurant officially opened in February 1983. The restaurant is decorated with hunting trophies on the walls (which all have been donated, including the original Lion from the Red Lion restaurant on Bridge Street in Vail) and a bar laminated with ski passes from local notables and Olympians.
The atmosphere is truly Vail unique! The dining room exudes classic Colorado Rockies charm with a family-friendly atmosphere. The expansive menu boasts Wagu beef, wild game (elk, venison, buffalo and quail) and fresh seafood daily. They take great pride sourcing the freshest ingredients in all of their dishes. Seafood arrives fresh from the East Coast, West Coast, Alaska and the Gulf of Mexico. Displayed daily on a blackboard, the selection is ever-changing. The house specialty crab cakes are Connie’s grandmother’s recipe from Maryland.
An expansive wine list, beers on tap and fun delicious cocktails are paired with fantastic customer service from her dedicated staff. It is no wonder The Gashouse Restaurant is a culinary landmark in the Vail Valley. Connie, along with her incredible team, has made the “Magic” of The Gashouse happen for 39 years, which keeps the guests coming back week after week, year after year! A true hidden gem for you to enjoy!
