It's nearly impossible to walk by Bob's Roasted Nuts without stopping for a sample and then getting a bit more, "for later." Bob's uses no oils or butter to cook their nuts, making this family-owned, Colorado-based company a Market favorite.

Functional Art

Sure, the Vail Farmer's Market is known for produce, but you're going to need a bowl to put those diced beets in, or a bowl to mash your organic potatoes in. That's not a problem

Beth Telthorst of Buena Vista's Trout Creek Farm discusses the finer points of radishes with a customer. Trout Creek is one of many regional farms that keeps the market true to it's early, earthy roots: a place to purchase organic, fresh produce that's so tasty you'll want to each salads for every meal.

It's been a whopping 15 years since the first vendors at the Vail Farmer's Market and Art Show set up the first booths filled with organic peaches, veggies and other tasty treats. In that time the market has grown from what were admittedly humble beginnings to 16 fun filled Sundays with more than 135 vendors. Sure, you'll still find those luscious peaches, but there's a lot more, including art, food tents with every flavor, live music and great people watching. The offerings range from classic Vail restaurants like the Alpenrose to produce from the western slope breadbaskets of Palisade and Paonia.

In other words, there's something for everyone, and even if you show up planning not to purchase anything, you'll most likely find yourself walking home with a shopping bag over your shoulder laden with - at the very least - some of those amazing organic peaches.
