Mountain Valley Horse Rescue (MVHR) is a 501(C)3 nonprofit organization founded in 2004 and committed to rescuing, rehabilitating, and re-homing abused, neglected, abandoned, and unwanted horses. 

As one of the only horse rescue organizations in the central mountain area, and with over 6,000 unwanted horses in Colorado alone, MVHR is working hard to make a dent in the need, and an everlasting difference for the horses we help. 

MVHR also works to reduce equine abuse and neglect through extensive community outreach and education with programs for people of all ages.  Mini Horse Heroes for preschoolers, school programs, summer camps, High School Rescue Club and our Volunteer Program offer opportunities for everyone in our community to learn more about horses with MVHR!
